MGM R&D laboratory has a new equipment to verify the protection of the motor enclosure against the penetration of dust. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In compliance with the provisions of the IEC 60034-5 standard, the equipment for carrying out this test consists of a special test chamber in which the talcum powder is kept in suspension and the pressure inside the motor under test it is kept below atmospheric pressure. The choice of the protection degree of a motor must be suitable for the conditions of the environment in which it has to operate. According to the provisions of the IEC 60034-5 standard, the designation of the protection degree takes place through an abbreviation consisting of the letters IP followed by two digits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first digit indicates the protection degree provided by the motor enclosure against contact with live or moving parts and against the penetration of dust.
